Xhosa people are stubborn and selfish

This is by no means meant to offend anybody. I am Xhosa myself, but truth be told about my people; they are a stubborn and selfish bunch. The reason i say this is because you hardly find a xhosa person interested in learning other languages but they want other people to learn their language. I don't know maybe we think Xhosa is 'thee number one language' in the country. I am talking from experince here, nothing made up and i know a whole lot of people who do this. Let's take Pretoria or Johannesburg for example, in those two provinces you will find have people from different backgrounds and all the 11 official languages spoken there. All other races make the effort of learning a language that everybody can understand, which is Zulu, but we Xhosas? NO! We love our clicks full stop (which is not bad, we are all proudly xhosa) but man, how about loosening up and learning another language.

To prove my point, i've got an aunt who's been staying in Pretoria for more than 10 years but all she knows is "Helo, how are you? I'm fine thank you" in Tswana, like realy now! 10 years and only know the greeting. Another example: you are in another province where Xhosa is the least dominat spoken language, you get lost and want to ask for directions but no one speaks xhosa, you'll have to ask in English right? problem is, not everybody can speak and understand English instead they know Afrikaans and you dont, so to engage you must speak 'broken isiZulu' and you'll be understood. But if it were you (Xhosa) and a person cannot speak a language you dont understand you'll just say 'uthini na? ankuva mna thetha ndikuve!' (what are you saying? Dont understand a word you saying). Why cant we(Xhosas) be considerate like other african people? After all, South Africa is a rainbow nation and the world does not revolve around us.
**And just by  the way "isiSwati" is the sexiest language in SA.

  1. My friend this is plain controversy and is informed of liberal type of thinking, honestly. I think it’s not fair and fails to display the true nature of what amaXhosa are like. Please don’t hate girl friend, you misrepresenting amaXhosa publicly. I only agree with the last sentence of your blog, the rest I dismiss with the contempt it deserves. No hardies girl.
